On Wednesday, September 18, Meadowcreek Golf Course will have been in operation for 50 years. The course opened on September 18, 1974, and began as a 9-hole course with an additional 9-holes added in 1991 establishing the current 18-hole layout. Over the past several years, Meadowcreek has had over 40,000+ rounds of golf annually and offers experiences for all levels of golfer from beginners to advanced. The goal of Meadowcreek Golf Course is to offer an affordable, competitive, and quality golfing experience to the residents of Charlottesville, surrounding counties and visitors.
Meadowcreek Golf Course is located at 1400 Pen Park Road and is adjacent to Pen Park. The City of Charlottesville owns the course, and it is managed through the Department of Parks and Recreation and Troon Golf who is contracted to handle the day-to-day operations.
Offerings and services at Meadowcreek have expanded over the years and include a pro shop with golf equipment, supplies, and merchandise, driving range, practice areas, tournaments/events, learn to golf programs, private lessons, and food & beverage. Meadowcreek is also the home course to the Charlottesville High School golf team and partners with organizations such as the First Tee to provide youth programs.
A recognition ceremony will occur on Wednesday, September 18 at 11:00 am in which the Virginia State Golf Association will present and award to Meadowcreek Golf Course for its 50 years of service. The City of Charlottesville and its partners would like to thank everyone who has visited and played Meadowcreek and look forward to another 50 years of serving the community.
